Job summary

Club na bPáistí, an Irish-language after‑school club in Ennis, is seeking a friendly, dependable assistant to join our team. You will help supervise children aged 5–12 and encourage Irish usage through playful activities and daily conversation.

You’ll work with experienced colleagues in a team‑based, in‑person role, Monday to Friday during the school term, with Garda Vetting required. Prior childcare experience helps but is not essential as we provide support.

Club na bPáistí is an Irish-language after‑school club based in Gaelscoil Mhícíl Cíosóg, Ennis. We are looking for a friendly, dependable assistant to join our team.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced colleagues, helping to supervise children aged 5–12 and encouraging them to enjoy using Irish naturally through play, activities and everyday conversation.

This is a team‑based supporting role.

Main duties

• Working alongside colleagues to supervise and engage with children
• Talking and playing with the children through Irish
• Helping with games, arts and crafts, outdoor play and other activities
• Encouraging children to participate and behave positively
• Helping to prepare and tidy activity areas
• Working with the team to maintain a safe, welcoming environment

The ideal candidate will

• Have good conversational Irish
• Enjoy working and interacting with children
• Be patient, friendly and dependable
• Work well as part of a team
• Be available Monday to Friday during the school term

Previous experience working with children would be helpful but is not essential, as support will be available from experienced colleagues. This position may suit someone looking to gain experience working with children in a relaxed Irish‑speaking environment.

The successful applicant will be required to complete Garda Vetting.

Pay: €15.00-€18.00 per hour
