Job summary

Jons Civil Engineering Co Ltd in Ireland is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a Kerry-based civil infrastructure project. The role requires a strong background in earthworks, roadworks, drainage, utilities and reinforced concrete structures.

You will manage pre-construction through final accounts, prepare valuations, measure works, monitor costs and manage subcontractor procurement, reporting on commercial performance and risks.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying/Construction Economics or related discipline.
• 5+ years experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the civil engineering sector.
• Experience on earthworks, roadworks, drainage, utilities and structures.
• Strong knowledge of Irish construction contracts and commercial practices.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the commercial management of the project from pre-construction through to final account.
• Prepare, submit and negotiate valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Measure and value works completed in accordance with contract requirements.
• Monitor project costs, budget, productivity and cash flow, identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Prepare accurate monthly cost reports, forecasts and commercial performance updates.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, valuations and final accounts.
• Administer contract documentation and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team, supporting the successful delivery of a new civil infrastructure project based in Kerry. This role is suited to a commercially focused professional with experience across a broad range of civil works, including earthworks, roadworks, drainage, utilities and reinforced concrete structures.

Key Responsibilities:
