Job summary

postGrad is seeking a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to manage the financial and contractual aspects of specialist sports construction and civil engineering projects from tender through to final account. This permanent, full-time role is based in Ireland and requires travel to project sites.

You will prepare valuations, variations and final accounts, review drawings and contracts, manage budgets and procurement, and work closely with project teams across multiple locations.

Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of QS or commercial construction experience.
  • Knowledge of construction costs, procurement and contracts.
  • Experience with valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites in Ireland.

Quantity Surveyor

Our client, a County Kerry-based construction company, is currently recruiting a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to manage the financial and contractual aspects of specialist sports construction and civil engineering projects from tender through to final account.

The company has a number of ongoing projects across various locations throughout Ireland. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project budgets, costs, forecasts, cash flow and margins.
  • Prepare valuations, payment applications, variations and final accounts.
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts and scopes of work.
  • Prepare quantities, estimates and tender submissions.
  • Obtain, assess and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Manage procurement and monitor subcontractor commercial performance.
  • Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
  • Identify commercial risks, opportunities and cost-saving measures.
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting.
  • Support contract administration, notices and commercial correspondence.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, Estimators and senior management.
  • Attend client, subcontractor and project meetings as required.
Requirements
  • 3–6 years of Quantity Surveying or commercial construction experience.
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction or Commercial Management.
  • Strong knowledge of construction costs, procurement and contracts.
  • Experience with valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites throughout Ireland.
Salary

Salary is negotiable and based on experience.
