GPC - Global Professional Consultants is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a Midlands civil engineering and utilities contractor. The role focuses on cost control, NEC contract management, and procurement for multiple projects.

You will prepare estimates, manage budgets and variations, and deliver detailed financial reporting while ensuring regulatory compliance. The position offers a company vehicle and pension as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.

• Proven NEC contracts experience is essential.

AleadingCivil engineering contractoris seeking an experiencedQuantity Surveyorto join a multi-disciplinary civil engineering and utilities contractor in the Midlands.As a Quantity Surveyor you are required to have a good knowledge and understanding of civil engineering and utility operations.

Role:

• Oversee and manage all project costs to ensure that projects are completed within budget.
• Prepare and evaluate cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for our projects.
• Manage NEC contracts, including interpreting contract clauses, managing early warnings, and assessing compensation events.
• Analyse and assess variations, manage claims in compliance with NEC guidelines, and ensure timely resolution of any contract issues.
• Conduct cost analysis and risk management for ongoing projects.
• Oversee procurement processes, negotiate with subcontractors, and manage subcontractor performance.
• Prepare and present detailed reports on project financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Assist in the preparation of contract documents and manage contract variations.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying.
• 2+ years experience in quantity surveying within the Civil Engineering sector.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement processes.
• Proven experience with NEC contracts is essential.
• Proficient in the use of COINS, Primavera P6, MS Project software and MS Office suite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary
