Job summary

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics and possess strong procurement, valuations and contract knowledge.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics is required.
• Solid experience with a main building contractor.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge is essential.
• Experience on construction or fit-out projects is preferred.
• Understanding of procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts is important.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of fit-out and construction projects from procurement through to completion.
• Prepare valuations, cost reports, forecasts and final accounts.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts.
• Procurement and negotiation of subcontract packages; monitor project costs, variations, claims and commercial risks.
• Review contracts and ensure commercial compliance.
• Collaborate with project managers, site teams, clients and design teams.

A well-established commercial fit-out and construction contractor is looking to add a Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team in Dublin. The business specialises in high-quality commercial fit-outs, refurbishment and design & build projects, while also undertaking wider construction works. This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with a main building contractor background to move into a varied fit-out environment, working across a strong portfolio of projects throughout Dublin. The company delivers projects across commercial, office, industrial, education, hospitality and retail sectors, with a focus on high-quality turnkey delivery.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial aspects of fit-out and construction projects from procurement through to completion
• Preparing valuations, cost reports, forecasts and final accounts
• Managing subcontractor and supplier accounts
• Procurement and negotiation of subcontract packagesMonitoring project costs, variations, claims and commercial risks
• Reviewing contracts and ensuring commercial compliance
• Working closely with project managers, site teams, clients and design teams
• Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
• Supporting the successful commercial delivery of projects to programme and budget

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics
• Previous experience working with a main building contractor
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
• Experience across construction or fit-out projects
• Good understanding of procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment

Package

• Salary: €65,000 – €75,000 DOE
