Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is partnering with a leading Irish main contractor to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a major Dublin development. The role offers a salary of €70,000–€85,000 plus package and a permanent position on a high-value commercial and residential project.

You will manage the commercial and contractual aspects, budgets, procurement, subcontractor packages and cost reporting alongside a skilled project team, contributing to successful delivery.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
  • Previous experience with a main contractor is highly desirable.
  • Experience working on large-scale commercial, residential, healthcare, education or mixed-use projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.
  • Experience managing subcontractor packages from procurement through to final account.
  • Strong knowledge of valuations, variations, cost reporting and forecasting.
  • Experience with subcontractor negotiations and final accounts.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the commercial and contractual aspects of the project.
  • Preparing and monitoring project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
  • Managing procurement and subcontractor packages.
  • Preparing and issuing subcontractor tender packages.
  • Evaluating tenders and negotiating subcontractor and supplier agreements.
  • Managing subcontractor applications for payment and valuations.
  • Preparing and agreeing interim valuations and payment applications.
  • Managing variations, claims and commercial changes.
  • Monitoring project costs against budget and forecast.
  • Managing subcontractor accounts through to final account.
  • Preparing monthly cost/value reports and cash-flow forecasts.
  • Reviewing contracts, drawings, specifications and scope of works.
  • Identifying and managing commercial and contractual risks.
  • Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and the client.
  • Supporting the Commercial Manager and Project Manager with overall project delivery.

Our client is one of Ireland's leading construction contractors, with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality and complex projects across the commercial, residential, healthcare, education and infrastructure sectors.

With a strong pipeline of projects and continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major development in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded contractor and work alongside an experienced project and commercial team on a significant construction project.

About Your New Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial and contractual management of the project, working closely with the Commercial Manager, Project Manager, site team, subcontractors, consultants and client.
