Job summary

Jones Engineering in Ireland is expanding and seeks an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join the delivery team. The role involves working with Contract Managers, reviewing project contracts and preparing commercial reports.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in a similar role with an electrical contractor.
• 3rd level qualification is an advantage but not essential.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Construction Team and Senior QS on all Quantity Surveying functions.
• Advise Contract Managers on the commercial status of projects and review project contracts.
• Assist in preparing commercial reports and negotiate with contractors on variations.
• Manage major subcontractor accounts from award to interim valuation, variations and final account.
• Assist with monthly progress applications and other duties related to the role.

Job Description

Due to continued expansion in Jones Engineering, we require an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join the delivery team. The projects involve a wide range of clients in sectors such as Data Centres, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical and Commercial. This role offers experience of varied project work across different sectors and exposure to a diverse range of construction contracts.

Responsibilities

To provide support to Construction Team and Senior Quantity Surveyor on all Quantity Surveying functions including, but not limited to the following:

• Working directly with Contract Managers to advise on Commercial status of projects.
• Assisting in the review of all project contracts
• Assist the Senior QS with the preparation of Commercial Reports.
• Negotiation with contractors across all projects including preparation of variations.
• Manage major subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations and final account.
• Assist the Senior QS with monthly progress applications.
• All other duties associated with this role.

Skills/ Requirements

• Previous experience (4 years+) in a similar role with an electrical contractor.
• Relevant 3rd level qualification an advantage but not essential
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a multi-functional team.
• Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
