Job summary

Jones Engineering in Cork is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join our delivery team. The role offers exposure to projects across data centres, healthcare, pharmaceutical and commercial sectors, and experience with a diverse range of contracts.

You will work with Contract Managers to advise on commercial status, review contracts, assist in reports, negotiate variations, and manage subcontractor accounts from award to final payment.

Qualifications

• Relevant third level qualifications are an advantage but not essential.
• 4+ years' experience in a similar role with an electrical contractor.
• Able to work individually or in a multi-functional team.
• Excellent IT skills and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Work with Contract Managers to advise on commercial status.
• Review all project contracts.
• Assist Senior QS with preparation of commercial reports.
• Negotiate with contractors across projects including variations.
• Manage major subcontractor accounts from award to interim valuation, variations and final account.
• Assist Senior QS with monthly progress applications.
• Assist in tendering process.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job Description

Due to continued expansion in Jones Engineering, we require an Intermediate Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join the delivery team. The projects involve a wide range of clients in sectors such as Data Centres, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical and Commercial. This role offers experience of varied project work across different sectors and exposure to a diverse range of construction contracts.

Responsibilities

• Working directly with Contract Managers to advise on Commercial status of projects.
• Assisting in the review of all project contracts
• Assist the Senior QS with the preparation of Commercial Reports.
• Negotiation with contractors across all projects including preparation of variations.
• Manage major subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations and final account.
• Assist the Senior QS with monthly progress applications.
• Assisting in the tendering process
• All other duties associated with this role.

Skills/ Requirements

• Relevant third level qualifications are an advantage but not essential
• Previous experience (4 years+) in a similar role with an electrical contractor.
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a multi-functional team.
• Excellent IT Skills.
• Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
