Job summary

Jones Engineering in Ireland is seeking an Electrical Quantity Surveyor for the Transmission & Distribution / Renewables division to support delivery teams across renewable projects.

You will manage contracts, procure, supervise subcontractors and forecast turnover and cash flow while mentoring the commercial team. An Electrical background and renewables experience are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• University degree in Quantity Surveying/Construction Economics.
• Renewable Energy / Transmission & Distribution experience preferred.
• Electrical role experience would be advantageous.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Construction Team on all Quantity Surveying functions.
• Ensure compliance with contract obligations and advise on them.
• Identify commercial risks and report to management promptly.
• Compile monthly progress applications with remeasure and variations.
• Procurement activity and contract support with the Procurement Department.
• Manage subcontractor accounts from award to final account.
• Forecast turnover and cash flow for projects.
• Review and commercially manage projects for reliable reporting.
• Identify, analyse and report trends within the Business & Projects.
• Review correspondence to identify contract-critical items and respond.
• Ensure adherence to contractual requirements and provide guidance.
• Mentor the wider Commercial Team on site.
• All other duties associated with this role.

Due to continued expansion in our T&D / Renewables division, Jones Engineering require a Quantity Surveyor preferably with an Electrical & CSA background to join the delivery teams for renewable projects in Ireland. Responsibilities

• To provide support to Construction Team on all Quantity Surveying functions including, but not limited to the following:
• Ensure compliance with contract obligations and provide advice and monitoring of same to construction team
• Ability to identify potential commercial risks and ensure prompt reporting of same to management
• Compile monthly progress applications and ensure they are inclusive of accurate remeasure, site variations, day-works or claims
• Procurement - operational procurement activity and contract support, in conjunction with the Procurement Department
• Manage subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations and final account
• Managing and forecasting of turnover and cash flow of the projects
• Reviewing and commercial management of all projects, to ensure accurate and reliable reporting
• Identify, Analyse and report on trends within the Business & Projects
• Review all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team and /or subcontractors, to identify contractually critical items and to initiate replies
• To ensure Construction Team is adhering to all Contractual Requirements and providing advice and monitoring of same
• Manage and mentor the wider Commercial Team on site.
• All other duties associated with this role

Key Skills/ Requirements

• Relevant third level qualification essential in Quantity Surveying/ Construction Economics
• Previous Renewable Energy / Transmission & Distribution experience preferable but not essential
• Experience in an Electrical role previously
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a multi-functional team
• Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills
