Job summary

ROSS is seeking an experienced Project Manager to own steel projects from award through to handover, coordinating with our Roscommon fabrication facility and site teams.

You will manage programmes, liaise with clients, main contractors and design teams, and ensure quality, safety and timely delivery across diverse data centre, life sciences and commercial projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Project Management, ideally within structural steel or construction.
• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Proficient in MS Project and AutoCAD; Tekla experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of steel projects from award through design, detailing, fabrication, delivery, installation and handover.
• Manage project programmes and coordinate closely with the Roscommon fabrication facility.
• Act as the main point of contact for main contractors, clients and design teams.
• Review drawings, specifications, RAMS and lift plans.
• Drive project QA/QC and ensure handover documentation is complete and traceable.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, RAMS, permit-to-work and stop-work procedures.
• Chair project meetings and report progress, commercial performance and key issues to senior management.
• Identify problems early and take ownership of getting projects back on track when required.

Job description

This is a chance to take ownership of steel projects from the moment they are awarded right through to final handover.

ROSS Engineering has been delivering complex steel packages since 1997 across data centres, semiconductor, life sciences, pharmaceutical, commercial and residential projects.

We operate a 100,000 sq ft fabrication facility in Roscommon, with advanced CNC machining, robotic welding, forming, rolling and laser profiling capabilities, alongside our own plant, transport, cranage and installation teams.

For a Project Manager, that means fewer layers, fewer third-party interfaces and far more control over the outcome.

You will own your projects.

You'll work directly with clients, main contractors, designers, our fabrication team and site crews, taking responsibility for the programme and delivery performance of your packages from award through to handover.

Project Manager - The Role

• Take ownership of steel projects from award through design, detailing, submittals, fabrication, delivery, installation and handover
• Manage project programmes and coordinate closely with our Roscommon fabrication facility
• Act as the main point of contact for main contractors, clients and design teams
• Review drawings, specifications, RAMS and lift plans
• Drive project QA/QC and ensure handover documentation is complete and traceable
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, including RAMS, permit-to-work and stop-work procedures
• Chair project meetings and report progress, commercial performance and key issues to senior management
• Identify problems early and take ownership of getting projects back on track when required

Project Manager - What We're Looking For

• Ideally 5+ years' experience in Project Management, ideally within structural steel, architectural steel or a related construction environment
• Experience delivering steel packages from award through to installation and handover
• Background with a steel fabricator, steel contractor, main contractor or similar
• Strong understanding of fabrication, detailing and erection sequencing
• Good commercial awareness and experience managing project costs, variations and procurement
• Experience across data centre, semiconductor, life sciences, pharmaceutical, commercial or residential projects is advantageous
• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management or construction experience
• Good working knowledge of MS Project and AutoCAD; Tekla experience is an advantage
• Full clean driving licence
• Safe Pass and SMSTS or equivalent
