Job summary

Novax Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager with a solid background in structural steelwork to own projects from award to completion. You will coordinate estimating, detailing, fabrication, transport and erection teams, while ensuring programme and cost control.

The role requires delivering projects on time, managing clients and subcontractors, and mitigating commercial risks through proactive planning and effective handovers to delivery teams.

Qualifications

When a structural steel project moves from tender to delivery, someone needs to make sure the commercial commitments, programme and site delivery all stay aligned.

This is an opportunity to join an established steelwork contractor with a strong project pipeline, where the Contracts Manager will play a key role in taking projects from award through to completion.

They are looking for someone who already understands structural steelwork and knows what it takes to manage projects when fabrication, site installation, clients and deadlines all need to work together.

The Role

You will take ownership of assigned structural steel contracts, coordinating the teams and commercial requirements needed to deliver projects successfully.

You will:

• Manage structural steel projects from contract award through to completion.
• Coordinate project teams across estimating, detailing, fabrication, transport and erection.
• Monitor programme, costs, variations and contractual obligations throughout each project.
• Work directly with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to keep delivery on track.
• Identify commercial and operational risks early and put plans in place to deal with them.

The Candidate

This role requires someone who already understands the steelwork industry.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience in Contracts Management within structural steelwork.
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection.
• Experience managing projects from contract award through to completion.
• Ability to manage clients, subcontractors and internal project teams.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of contractual requirements.
• Experience working with project programmes, costs, variations and delivery deadlines.
• Based in Coolshannagh or within a realistic commuting distance.

The key requirement is genuine steelwork experience. This is not a general construction Contracts Manager position where structural steel knowledge can be learned later.
