Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Dublin is seeking a Project Hydraulic Modeller to deliver hydraulic modelling and flood risk studies. You will work with TUFLOW (ESTRY) and Flood Modeller, supporting projects from planning through to detailed design, and interpreting outputs for technical reports.

The role requires 3+ years’ experience in Ireland/UK and a relevant engineering degree. A full driving licence is required; Chartered status is beneficial.

• 3+ years' experience delivering hydraulic modelling projects in Ireland and/or the UK.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with TUFLOw (ESTRY) and Flood Modeller.
• GIS capability (QGIS).
• Strong technical reporting, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Full driving licence valid in Ireland; Chartership beneficial.

The Role

You’ll also gain exposure to water quality, sediment transport and major green energy infrastructure projects, alongside colleagues across environmental, planning and engineering disciplines.

About You

You’ll ideally have 3+ years’ experience delivering hydraulic modelling projects within Ireland and/or the UK, backed by a degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience with TUFLOW, including ESTRY, and Flood Modeller is particularly relevant, alongside GIS capability and an understanding of flood risk and hydraulic modelling.

You’ll also need good technical reporting, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ambition to take increasing responsibility for projects and clients.

A full driving licence valid in Ireland is required. Chartered status, or progress towards Chartership, would be beneficial.
