Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Dublin is seeking a Project Hydraulic Modeller to deliver hydraulic modelling and flood risk studies. You will work with TUFLOW (ESTRY) and Flood Modeller, supporting projects from planning through to detailed design, and interpreting outputs for technical reports.

The role requires 3+ years’ experience in Ireland/UK and a relevant engineering degree. A full driving licence is required; Chartered status is beneficial.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience delivering hydraulic modelling projects in Ireland and/or the UK.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with TUFLOw (ESTRY) and Flood Modeller.
• GIS capability (QGIS).
• Strong technical reporting, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Full driving licence valid in Ireland; Chartership beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hydraulic modelling and flood risk studies.
• Work with TUFLOW (ESTRY) and Flood Modeller.
• Support projects from planning through to detailed design.
• Interpret modelling outputs and prepare technical reports.
• Collaborate with GIS packages including QGIS.
• Manage elements of project delivery and stakeholder liaison.
• Support more senior colleagues on complex modelling studies.
• Occasional site visits across Ireland and the UK.
• Gain exposure to water quality, sediment transport and major green energy projects.
