Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Project Hydraulic Modeller in Cork to deliver hydraulic modelling and flood risk studies across Ireland and the UK. You will work with TUFLOW (ESTRY) and Flood Modeller, support projects from planning to detailed design, and prepare technical reports.
You will also use QGIS, manage project delivery elements, liaise with stakeholders, and assist more senior colleagues on complex studies. Some site visits are expected.

Got a few years’ hydraulic modelling experience behind you and ready to take more responsibility for your own projects?
This Cork role gives you the opportunity to build on your technical modelling experience while becoming more involved in project delivery. You’ll work on flood risk and hydraulic modelling projects across renewables, infrastructure, power, industrial and built environment sectors.

You’ll also gain exposure to water quality, sediment transport and major green energy infrastructure projects, alongside colleagues across environmental, planning and engineering disciplines.
You’ll ideally have 3+ years’ experience delivering hydraulic modelling projects within Ireland and/or the UK, backed by a degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience with TUFLOW, including ESTRY, and Flood Modeller is particularly relevant, alongside GIS capability and an understanding of flood risk and hydraulic modelling.
You’ll also need good technical reporting, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ambition to take increasing responsibility for projects and clients.
A full driving licence valid in Ireland is required. Chartered status, or progress towards Chartership, would be beneficial.
