Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Modeller in Cork to lead hydraulic modelling and flood risk studies. You will work with TUFLO W including ESTRY, and Flood Modeller, reviewing outputs and delivering projects from planning through detailed design.
Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of experience in Ireland/UK with a Civil Engineering/Hydrology/Environmental Eng degree, strong reporting skills, and the ability to mentor junior modellers.

Built strong hydraulic modelling experience and ready to take the lead on more complex projects while staying close to the technical work?
This Cork role combines hands-on modelling with greater responsibility for project delivery, technical review and clients. You’ll work on flood risk and hydraulic modelling projects across renewables, infrastructure, power, industrial and built environment sectors.
You’ll also gain exposure to water quality, sediment transport and major green energy infrastructure projects, working alongside specialists across environmental, planning and engineering disciplines.
You’ll ideally have 5+ years’ experience delivering hydraulic modelling projects within Ireland and/or the UK, backed by a degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
You’ll need strong TUFLOW, including ESTRY, and Flood Modeller experience, alongside GIS capability and knowledge of Flood Planning Guidelines and relevant Irish hydraulic modelling standards.
You’ll also bring project management and stakeholder experience, strong technical reporting skills and the ability to support less experienced team members.
Chartered status, or actively working towards Chartership, is required, together with a full driving licence valid in Ireland.
