Job summary

Lumen Search Ltd. is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to guide major data centre projects from early planning to construction readiness in Ireland. You will integrate design, scope, cost and programme to shape approaches and logistics before site starts.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience in data centres or large pharmaceutical facilities, with strong CSA/MEP coordination and the ability to align design with construction requirements. This is a hands-on delivery role.

Qualifications

• Experience managing preconstruction on major construction projects.
• Experience with data centres or large pharmaceutical facilities preferred.
• Strong knowledge of civil, structural and architectural works with MEP understanding.

Responsibilities

• Manage preconstruction activities from initial project review through construction readiness.
• Collaborate with design, estimating, commercial and delivery teams to establish clear scopes and requirements.
• Review CSA and MEP information to identify gaps, buildability issues, and interfaces between disciplines.
• Develop construction approaches, logistics plans and early project programmes.
• Support tender preparation, subcontractor engagement and technical reviews.
• Identify procurement priorities, including long lead equipment and specialist packages.
• Assess project risks and propose practical solutions before site works begin.
• Coordinate the handover of information, assumptions and actions to the construction team.

I’m recruiting a Preconstruction Manager for a contractor delivering major data centre projects. You’ll help shape projects before they reach site, bringing design, scope, cost and programme together to prepare them for construction.

This would suit someone with experience on data centres or large pharmaceutical projects. A strong understanding of CSA works is preferred, alongside the ability to coordinate with MEP teams.

Requirements

• Ideally, a background in data centres or large pharmaceutical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of civil, structural and architectural works, with an understanding of MEP requirements.
• The ability to assess drawings, specifications, programmes and construction methods.
• Confidence working across design, commercial and site teams.
• A relevant construction or engineering qualification.

Package

• Salary of €95,000 to €105,000
