Job summary

The Johnstown Estate is seeking an experienced Part-Time Payroll Administrator to join our Accounts team and support payroll across The Johnstown Estate and Trim Castle Hotel.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with Irish payroll legislation, Revenue requirements and company procedures. This role offers a flexible 16–24 hour work week across two properties.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience processing Irish payroll
  • Knowledge of PAYE Modernisation, PRSI, USC, ROS, RPNs and ERR
  • Strong Excel and payroll systems experience
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Confidential handling of payroll information
  • Knowledge of Irish employment legislation relating to payroll and statutory leave
  • Experience with hospitality payroll is advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and within deadlines
  • Manage starters, leavers, employee changes, holiday pay and statutory leave
  • Process overtime, premiums, allowances, bonuses, tips and other adjustments
  • Review time and attendance records and resolve discrepancies
  • Manage PAYE, PRSI, USC, ROS and other Revenue requirements
  • Prepare payroll reports, journals and reconciliations
  • Respond to employee payroll queries professionally
  • Maintain payroll records and audit trails
  • Support Finance and HR with payroll-related administration and reporting

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Part-Time Payroll Administrator to join our Accounts team, supporting payroll across The Johnstown Estate and Trim Castle Hotel.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll across both properties, ensuring compliance with Irish payroll legislation, Revenue requirements and company procedures.

  • Processing payroll accurately and within agreed deadlines
  • Managing starters, leavers, employee changes, holiday pay, sick pay and statutory leave
  • Processing overtime, premiums, allowances, bonuses, tips/service charge and other payroll adjustments
  • Reviewing time and attendance records and resolving discrepancies
  • Managing PAYE, PRSI, USC, RPNs, PSRs, ERR and other Revenue requirements
  • Preparing payroll reports, journals and reconciliations
  • Responding to employee payroll queries professionally and confidentially
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records and audit trails
  • Supporting Finance and HR with payroll-related administration and reporting
What We're Looking For
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience processing Irish payroll
  • Strong knowledge of Irish payroll legislation, PAYE Modernisation, PRSI, USC, ROS, RPNs and ERR
  • An IPASS Payroll Technician qualification or equivalent
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and payroll systems experience
  • Excellent numerical skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet strict payroll deadlines
  • A professional and discreet approach when handling confidential information
  • Good knowledge of Irish employment legislation relating to payroll and statutory leave
  • Experience with SAGE Payroll, ALKIMII or hospitality payroll would be a distinct advantage.
Working Hours

This is a flexible part-time position of 16-24 hours per week, worked over 2-3 days, with some additional flexibility required around payroll deadlines and year-end processing.

The role will support both The Johnstown Estate, Enfield, Co. Meath and Trim Castle Hotel, Trim, Co. Meath.
