Job summary

GPC Finance, a well-established accountancy practice in Athlone, Ireland, seeks a Payroll Manager to join its expanding team. The successful candidate will have 5+ years’ Irish practice payroll experience and the ability to manage end-to-end payroll processes within a busy bureau environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a payroll bureau or busy, high-volume payroll environment.
  • Strong end-to-end payroll experience and ability to manage a varied client portfolio.
  • Excellent knowledge of Irish payroll legislation and processes.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior payroll staff would be advantageous.
  • IPASS or equivalent payroll qualification is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned portfolio of client payrolls, ensuring accurate and timely processing of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls while maintaining compliance with Irish payroll legislation and Revenue requirements.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, building strong relationships, responding to payroll queries, and providing expert advice and solutions on complex payroll matters.
  • Oversee the full payroll lifecycle, including starters, leavers, pensions, statutory deductions, payroll amendments, reconciliations, payment processing, and issue resolution.
  • Support continuous improvement by maintaining accurate records, enhancing payroll processes and controls, collaborating with senior team members, and sharing knowledge with junior colleagues.

Our client, a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice based in Athlone, is seeking a Payroll Manager to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a payroll professional with a minimum of 5 years’ Irish practice experience who is eager to progress their audit career in a supportive and progressive environment. This role will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to play a key role within a busy and growing payroll function.
