Job summary

Red Hat invites an OpenShift Sustaining Engineering Intern to Waterford for a hybrid, paid internship starting January 2027. You will engage in backporting, build and release tasks, fix CVEs, and collaborate on AI and Automation projects as part of a small, growing team.

You must be enrolled in an Irish university for the full duration of the internship, with strong English, Go or Python skills, and Linux proficiency. A GitHub account and open source enthusiasm are a plus.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited university program in the Republic of Ireland during the internship.
• Solid knowledge of Go or Python and Linux usage.
• Understanding of software development testing and build processes is a plus.
• Awareness of open source contribution is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Participate in backporting and other build and release activities
• Work on CVE issues and bug fixing scenarios
• Collaborate on AI and automation projects
• Contribute to Red Hat's OpenShift lifelong offerings strategy
