Job summary

Red Hat invites an OpenShift Sustaining Engineering Intern to Waterford for a hybrid, paid internship starting January 2027. You will engage in backporting, build and release tasks, fix CVEs, and collaborate on AI and Automation projects as part of a small, growing team.

The Red Hat OpenShift Sustaining Engineering team is looking for an Intern who's interested to join our team. In this role, you will work with the newly established OpenShift Sustaining Engineering team. You will help to manage and develop the new long life OpenShift offering. As an Intern, you will (also) learn important engineering workflows and also focus on product backporting. This long-term internship will give you the opportunity to get experience in software engineering and especially in the security aspect of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures.

What you will bring:

• You must be enrolled in an accredited university program in the Republic of Ireland during the full duration of the internship and must be able to join us full time from January till August 2027
• Working knowledge of written and spoken English
• Practical knowledge of Go or Python
• Linux experience at least on user level
• Knowledge of software development testing and build is a plus
