Job summary

Red Hat is seeking a highly motivated student for an internship in the Experience Engineering Sustaining team, based in the Waterford office. This paid, full-time role offers hands-on experience with open source, release engineering, backporting CVEs, and automation to improve patch delivery quality.

You will work with Python and Go, gain exposure to OpenShift/Kubernetes, and collaborate across teams from January to August 2027, with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university program in the Republic of Ireland for the full duration of the internship.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Hands-on knowledge of Python and Go.
• Experience with debugging and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Linux.
• Knowledge of GitHub/GitLab.
• Knowledge of OpenShift/Kubernetes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn OpenShift AI product and gain enterprise experience in release engineering on Kubernetes platform.
• Diagnose the root cause of failures.
• Learn and contribute to backports of CVEs and bug fixes to stable release streams.
• Become responsible for product quality, CI/CD, and security responsiveness.
