Job summary

Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort in Carlow is seeking a Night Porter to help ensure overnight security and exceptional guest care. A one-year experience in a similar role is preferred and the position offers a very competitive hourly wage.

You will assist with night room service, bar duties after hours, and keep lobby areas prepared for the next day’s operations, while supporting administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications

• One year's experience in a similar role.
• Strong customer service skills and hospitality awareness.
• Willing to work night shifts and adapt to hotel operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure hotel security during overnight hours and perform fire/health checks.
• Attend to guests' needs and maintain high standards of service.
• Prepare and serve night room service, keep the kitchen area clean.
• Provide bar service to guests outside regular hours when needed.
• Arrange lobby/pre-function area, lighting, seating and music at an appropriate level.
• Handle administrative tasks such as printing reports and filing registration cards.
• Keep front of house tidy and assist with porterage as required.

Role and Responsibilities:

• To ensure that the security of the hotel is maintained overnight, conducting regular fire, health andsecurity checks
• To be available to attend to guests needs and ensure the highest standards of customer care at all times
• Prepare and serve night room service, ensuring the kitchen is clean and left as found
• Provide Bar service/Residents Bar to guests when required outside the regular opening hours
• Prepare lobby and pre-function area for opening; lights on, cushions and chairs in place, music atappropriate level
• Administration as required, to include printing reports and preparing and filing the guests registrationcards and filing room service dockets.
• To ensure front of house is kept presentable and free from litter
• To provide porterage service when required

Candidate Requirements:

One year's experience in a similar role would be ideal.
