Job summary

Talbot Hotel Stillorgan in Stillorgan, Co. Dublin, Ireland, is seeking a Night Porter to join our team on a permanent/part-time basis. The role runs from 23:00 to 07:00, with responsibilities across guest service, safety, and portering in a busy hospitality environment.

The successful candidate will have 2–3 years’ porter experience and excellent communication and organisational skills, with duties including reception support and strict adherence to Health & Safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the highest level of guest service during the night, with emphasis on conference and function areas.
• Safeguard company money, goods and assets.
• Establish a courteous and helpful attitude to all guests by anticipating needs.
• Carry out cleaning and portering duties as required.
• Provide a safe and secure environment for hotel guests.
• Ensure health and safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times.
• Cover reception as required; capable of check-in and check-out.
• Prepare a complete handover for the porter on duty and for the end of shift.

Main Duties:

• To ensure that the highest level of guest service is given throughout the night paying particular attention to conference/function business and all public areas, ascertaining complete guest satisfaction at all times.
• To ensure that all necessary steps are taken to safeguard company money, goods and assets.
• To establish a courteous and helpful attitude to all guests by anticipating their needs.
• To carry out various cleaning duties and general portering duties, as necessary.
• To provide a safe and secure environment for hotel guests.
• To be proactive in ensuring that all Health & Safety procedures and hygiene procedures are adhered to at all times.
• To cover reception as required - must be able to check in and check out.
• To ensure a complete & clear handover is done with the porter going off duty and that you prepare a handover for the end of your shift ensuring all check sheets are fully completed.

Required:

• Excellent communication and organisation skills
• 2 - 3 years’ experience as a porter
