Job summary

Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort in Carlow is seeking an experienced Bar Supervisor to lead the bar team, ensuring smooth operations and guest satisfaction in a four-star hotel environment. You will report to the Bars Manager and oversee shifts, training, and stock control while maintaining standards across all bar areas.

The role emphasizes leadership, effective communication, and the ability to drive service excellence during peak periods, with benefits aligned to a premium hospitality

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of a large bar team in a busy hotel or similar.
• Ability to train, coach and develop bar staff to four-star standards.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written, with guests and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day bar operations in the absence of Bar Manager.
• Ensure bar checklists and standards are followed and updated.
• Maintain stock rotation and safe storage practices.
• Prepare bars for each shift in line with procedures.
• Manage staff punctuality, uniform and name badges per rota.
• Coach staff to meet four-star hotel standards.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Bars Manager, the Bars Supervisor will supervisor the running of all the Bar functions within the hotel.

• Ensure smooth running of all bar operations in the absence of the Bar Manager

• Ensure weekly/daily checklists are completed by bar staff

• Ensure all of the bar team adhere to systems and procedures as outlined in the standards of procedures manual

• Ensure all stock is rotated and stored in a safe manner

• Ensure all bars are prepared for set up in advance of each shift and in accordance with relevant standards of procedure

• Ensure that all staff arrive to work on time and in correct uniform and name badge as per weekly rota

• Develop, train and coach bar staff to the standards required of a four star Hotel establishment in accordance with the standards of procedures manual

Requirements

Excellent leadership capabilities to effectively manage a large team

• Previous supervisor experience in a busy Food & Beverage environment is desired

• The ability to work towards achieving financial goals and targets set

• Proven ability to supervise bar operations with a track record of delivering guest satisfaction, employee retention and engagement

• Strong ability to work efficiently and deal with busy periods competently

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

• Self-Motivated and Enthusiastic

• Excellent Interpersonal Skills
