Job summary

Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort in Carlow is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support the kitchen team in a busy environment. You will help with cleaning, washing, and general kitchen duties under the guidance of senior staff.

• Ability to work 5 out of 7 days including weekend and late evening shift.

Responsibilities

• Work on all sections as directed by Executive Head Chef/Sous Chef.
• Carry out basic cleaning tasks in a busy kitchen.
• Wash pots, pans and utensils and keep areas sanitised.
• Clean crockery and cutlery to high standards.
• Assist in daily service operations and closing procedures.
• Participate in kitchen training sessions.

Responsibilities

• To work on all sections as required by the Executive Head Chef/Sous Chef and take direction from the Chef De Partie/Senior Chef as appropriate.
• Carry out basic cleaning tasks in a timely fashion in a busy and sometimes pressurised environment.
• Collecting and washing of all pots, pans and kitchen utensils
• Cleaning crockery and cutlery to a high standard and ensuring all food preparation areas are sanitised and clean.
• Ensuring work surfaces, walls, floors and all areas of the kitchen are sanitised and clean at all times.
• To participate in Kitchen/Off site training sessions as appropriate.
• To take direction in and apply as appropriate the safe and correct usage of each piece of Kitchen equipment.
• To be involved in the daily service operation as directed by the Chef De Partie/Sous Chef.
• To support the section ‘close’ following cleaning procedures as directed by the Chef De Partie/Sous Chef.
• To carry out the unit food hygiene checks as directed by the Senior Kitchen team.
