Job summary

BMD & Co Ltd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor in Ireland to manage project costs from initiation to final handover, balancing cost with safety and quality. You will oversee tenders, invoicing, subcontractor administration and payment certification, while supporting commercial risk management and client relations.

The role requires strong numeracy, negotiation, and MS Excel proficiency, with 3–5 years of relevant experience in the mechanical sector.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Proficient with Word and Excel.
• 3–5 years of relevant surveying/QS experience, preferably in mechanical.

Responsibilities

• Review tenders, rates, preliminaries and terms before contract commencement.
• Raise invoices and substantiate costs for completed works.
• Lead interim commercial meetings with clients, subcontractors and internal team.
• Report on commercial status to senior QS/construction manager.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, variations, and final accounts.
• Certify payments and manage day works, changes and claims.
• Identify commercial risks and report to senior management.
