Job summary

BMD & Co Ltd in Ireland is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage costs and the commercial aspects of process mechanical construction and maintenance projects from initiation through to final take‑over. You will balance cost control with safety, quality and industry standards.

Responsibilities include tender review, invoicing, subcontractor administration, interim/final accounts, payments and progress claims, with reporting to senior management on commercial status.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Min 3–5 years related surveyor experience, preferably in the mechanical sector.
• Strong numeracy and financial management skills.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review tenders, rates, preliminaries, terms before contract start.
• Raise sales invoices with cost substantiation.
• Lead commercial meetings with client, sub-contractors and internal team.
• Report commercial status to senior QS/construction manager.
• Administer purchase orders and subcontractor invoices.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and final accounts.
• Certify payments and manage retentions per contracts.
• Track progress claims with site managers and certify payments.
