Job summary

BMD is seeking a Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager to oversee cost control from initiation to final accounts on mechanical construction projects. You will balance safety, quality and client satisfaction while driving commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities include tender reviews, invoicing, interim valuations, and final accounts, with close coordination with construction managers and site engineers. A Degree in QS or related field and 3–5 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, construction management or equivalent.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Min 3-5 years relevant surveyor experience, preferably in mechanical sector.
• Strong numeracy and financial management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; team player.

Responsibilities

• Review tenders, rates, preliminaries and terms before contracts.
• Raise invoices and substantiate costs for completed works.
• Manage interim meetings with client, subcontractors and internal team.
• Prepare contract valuations on a bi-monthly basis.
• Liaise with customers and subcontractors on progress accounts and variations.
• Administer purchase orders, invoices and labour cost inputting.
• Identify commercial risks and report to Senior Management.
• Ensure adherence to contract obligations and industry standards.
