Job summary

Elite Talent Hub is seeking a Mechanical Estimator for a leading water and wastewater engineering organization in Ireland. The role focuses on producing accurate estimates for mechanical works, aligning with technical and commercial requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical estimating.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and construction methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical projects based on drawings and specifications.
• Ensure all estimates reflect realistic risk levels and comply with company and industry standards.
• Participate in the design development process, assessing buildability, materials, and cost efficiency.
• Provide early-stage pricing support and input into tender strategies.
• Ensure all governance and risk management processes are followed and properly documented.
• Support the preparation of tender programmes, resource schedules, and pricing documentation.
• Work with procurement teams to identify suppliers and subcontractors and obtain competitive quotations.
• Maintain awareness of industry developments, technologies, and innovations.
• Contribute to cost coding, financial modelling, and post-project analysis to improve estimating accuracy.
