Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dynamic manufacturing team. You will design distribution transformers to customer specifications, prepare drawings and technical details, and coordinate prototype manufacture with R&D to drive improvements.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, proficiency with CREO or SolidWorks, and experience in manufacturing. Travel may be required; a driving license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of best practices.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• SAP experience is a plus.
• Clean driving license preferred and willingness to travel for business.
• Strong analytical, organisational, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Design distribution transformers to customer specifications.

As the Mechanical Design Engineer,youwill:

• Design distribution transformers in line with customer specifications, expanding our range and capabilities.
• Prepare specifications, drawings, and technical details for customers and ensure designs meet internal standards.
• Coordinate prototype manufacturing and work closely with R&D to drive ongoing improvements.
• Prepare factory floor instructions and ensure implementation of best practices in manufacturing.
• Liaise with production teams to guarantee technical specifications are achieved and maintained.

What Skills You Need

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to use design packages such as CREO or Solidworks
• Experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of best practices.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience with internal standards, quality metrics; SAP experience is a plus.
• Clean driving license preferred and willingness to travel for business.
• Strong analytical, organisational, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
