Mechanical Design Engineer – 13013

Mechanical Design Engineer required to join one of Ireland’s leading M&E Design Consultancies based in Kilkenny. This role offers opportunities to work on high-profile projects across sectors such as infrastructure, industrial, commercial, pharmaceutical, airport, education, healthcare, service station, leisure centre/swimming pool, hotels, public housing, etc for the public and private sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead Mechanical Engineer overseeing design and delivery of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards, Part L, NZEB, and relevant codes.
• Prepare and review project documentation, including specifications, tenders, schedules, and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Develop fee proposals and quality submissions for public and private sector projects, supporting business development.
• Communicate with stakeholders to ensure project alignment and coordination.
• Review design proposals and meet Designer responsibilities under SHWW(C) Regulations for safety and compliance.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Strong technical skills in Mechanical Engineering Services and Design.
• 3+ years of relevant experience, ideally in a design consultancy, covering project delivery from concept to completion.
• Familiarity with current Design Guides, Building Regulations, EN, and IEC Standards.
• IT skills – Dialux and Amtech.
• Experience interacting with clients, vendors, and contractors.
• Proactive team player with excellent attention to detail.
