Job summary

RECRUITERS is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer in Dublin for a 12-month contract. You will build, automate and support the platforms behind critical enterprise applications, spanning AWS/Azure, Terraform, Jenkins and Kubernetes.

The role emphasizes automation, continuous improvement and high availability. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and enterprise Managed File Transfer platforms, with a focus on reliability and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong CI/CD and Jenkins experience.
• Hands on Terraform / Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong Linux and scripting skills.
• Experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet or similar.
• Experience supporting Managed File Transfer or B2B integration platforms.
• Knowledge of secure file transfer, certificates, encryption and key management.
• Strong understanding of cloud and network fundamentals.
• Experience with monitoring and observability.
• A strong focus on automation, reliability and operational excellence.
• Experience with IBM Sterling File Gateway, Sterling B2B Integrator, Sterling Secure Proxy or Connect:Direct would be highly advantageous.

I’m currently recruiting for a Lead Platform Engineer to join a major global technology organisation in Dublin on an initial 12 month contract, with a view to extend.

This is a hands on platform engineering opportunity for someone with strong experience across cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD and enterprise Managed File Transfer.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll help build, automate and support the platforms behind critical enterprise applications, working across:

• AWS and/or Azure
• Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Jenkins, GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Linux and shell scripting
• Ansible and configuration management
• Enterprise Managed File Transfer platforms
• Sterling B2B Integrator and Connect:Direct
• Partner onboarding and file routing
• Certificate management and secure file exchange
• SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS, TLS and PGP
• Monitoring, logging and observability
• Production support and operational resilience

A big part of the role will be automation and continuous improvement, finding better ways to deploy, operate and support highly available platforms while improving the developer experience.

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally have:
