Job summary

Realtime Recruitment is seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer to design, build and optimise highly available, scalable cloud infrastructure across Azure and GCP. You will be hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible and Python, driving cloud automation and CI/CD for a global SaaS platform.

You will mentor engineers, influence architecture and collaborate with development teams to improve reliability, security and performance.

Qualifications

Job description

I am looking for a Lead Cloud Engineer with 5+ years’ experience to design, build and optimise highly available, scalable cloud infrastructure across Azure and GCP. You’ll be hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible and Python, driving cloud automation, CI/CD, observability and cloud-native engineering practices. This is a senior technical role offering the opportunity to influence architecture, mentor engineers and work closely with development and engineering teams to improve the reliability, security and performance of a global SaaS platform.

Key Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience deploying and supporting SaaS products across Azure and GCP.
• Proven ability to design, implement and optimise highly available, scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure.
• 4+ years’ experience with one or more programming/scripting languages, including Python, Java, Go or Bash.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management, particularly Terraform and Ansible.
• Strong experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, including build, test, packaging and deployment processes.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, microservices and containerised environments.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimisation.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, SecOps and compliance best practices.
• Experience working with development teams to implement and maintain CI/CD tools and processes.
• Ability to conduct code/technical reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Experience providing technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex infrastructure and scalability challenges.
