Job summary

Mastercard Dublin Technology Hub is hiring a Lead Software Engineer to lead platform engineering, focusing on cloud infrastructure, automation and MFT platforms. You will own hands-on work with AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform and CI/CD pipelines, while delivering secure, scalable enterprise-grade solutions.

The role involves designing, deploying and operating cloud infrastructure, containerised platforms, and MFT tooling in a hybrid Dublin setting, with a strong emphasis on automation,

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS/Azure, Docker and Kubernetes in production.
• Proven Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience, alongside CI/CD and DevOps.
• Strong Linux, shell scripting and configuration management skills (Ansible, Chef or Puppet).
• Experience with IBM Sterling, Connect or similar MFT/B2B platforms (SFTP, FTPS, AS2, TLS, PGP, certs).
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across distributed systems, infrastructure and production environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar.
• Deploy and manage containerised platforms using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Build and operate enterprise Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms, including IBM Sterling File Gateway, Sterling B2B Integrator and Connect.
• Drive automation, monitoring, observability, secure B2B connectivity and operational improvements across highly available platforms.

The Opportunity

Join a global technology and payments organisation at its Dublin Technology Hub, working on the platforms that support critical, large-scale services.

This Lead Software Engineer role is ideal for a hands‑on Platform Engineer with strong AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD and Managed File Transfer experience, who enjoys solving complex infrastructure and automation challenges.
