Job summary

Solas IT Recruitment client in Galway seeks an experienced Cloud Engineer to design, build and operate secure cloud infrastructure for production SaaS apps. You’ll partner with software teams to deliver scalable, highly available platforms on AWS and Azure.

Focus areas include IaC, CI/CD pipelines, automation, containerisation, security and cost awareness, with mentoring across teams and a hands-on DevOps culture in a fast-growing engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience in Cloud, DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, ideally AWS and Azure.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation or similar.
• Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes or Amazon ECS.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus or Grafana.
• Good understanding of cloud networking, security, IAM and cloud architecture principles.
• Scripting experience using Bash, Python or PowerShell.
• Experience supporting production SaaS environments with high availability and reliability requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and automation skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering teams.
• AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator or DevOps Engineer.
• Serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda.
• Security and compliance frameworks.
• Cloud cost optimisation and FinOps practices.
• Experience working within Agile engineering environments.

My client is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Galway. This is an opportunity to play a key role in designing, building and operating the cloud infrastructure supporting modern, production SaaS applications.
