Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Electrical Substation Designer to lead HV substation design delivery for major energy projects in Ireland/UK. You will produce primary plant layouts, drive design input, and manage FEED and detailed design activities across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Experience as FEED designer, detailed design or owner's engineer is advantageous.
• Experience with consultancy, contractor or utility in energy sector is preferred.
• Strong client-facing and project-delivery mindset.

Responsibilities

• Produce primary plant layouts for HV substations.
• Lead engineering design input to major infrastructure projects.
• Undertake Project Development/Pre-construction activities including optimum cable routes.
• Develop equipment specifications for HV Plant and related equipment.
• Create specifications with technology specialists and external partners.
• Develop tender specifications and evaluate tenders.
• Provide design assurance of tender documentation and supplier meetings.
• Review supplier designs during construction and support commissioning.
• Mentor junior team members and act as a trusted client partner.
