AECOM is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to shape HV substation projects in a hybrid UK/Ireland setting. You will design plant layouts, specify HV equipment, and contribute to major energy infrastructure programmes.

You will bring extensive HV experience, engage with utilities and developers, and support renewable energy projects while collaborating across disciplines and locations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience of working on HV projects.
• Experience with major utilities or developers.
• Experience as a designer or as project engineer.
• Experience developing specifications for substation control systems, transformers, GIS, and AIS switchgear.
• Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects.
• Fluency in English.
• Experience in technical report writing.
• Full driving license and access to a personal vehicle as site visits may be required as part of this role.
• Ideally Chartered accreditation or working toward status.
• Ideally consultancy experience.
• Ideally experience in reviewing detailed designs & witnessing construction site activities.

Responsabilités

• Produce primary plant layouts for HV substations
• Produce equipment specifications for HV Plant and associated equipment
• Provide engineering design input to major infrastructure projects
• Undertake an Owners’ Engineer role on HV substation/Cable and OHL projects
• Provide HV design input to renewable energy projects e.g., Battery storage, Solar, Hydro and Wind generation
• Provide professional services to clients in Ireland/UK and overseas
