Job summary

AECOM Ireland Limited is seeking an ambitious Electrical Design Engineer to join our HV Substation Design team for UK & Ireland. The role is based in Dublin with a hybrid working model and involves contributing to energy infrastructure projects for hyperscalers, data centers, and renewables.

We seek a degree in Electrical Engineering with HV project experience and the ability to produce substation layouts and equipment specifications while supporting multi-disciplinary projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• HV project experience
• Experience as designer or project engineer
• Experience developing specs for substation control systems, transformers, GIS, AIS switchgear
• Ability to work across multiple projects
• Fluent English
• Exposure to technical report writing
• Full driving license and own vehicle for site visits
• Experience in multi-discipline engineering projects
• Chartered accreditation or working toward status
• Consultancy experience
• Experience in reviewing detailed designs & witnessing construction activities

Responsibilities

• Produce primary plant layouts for HV substations
• Prepare equipment specifications for HV plant and related equipment
• Provide HV design input to major infrastructure projects
• Support Owners’ Engineer activities on HV substation, cable and OHL projects
• Contribute HV design input to renewables (battery, solar, hydro, wind) projects
