Job summary

Ports North partners with a leading financial services organisation to hire a Lead DevOps Engineer on a daily rate contract in Dublin. The role demands an experienced, autonomous professional capable of shaping an Engineering Platform strategy and guiding DevOps across the enterprise.

The successful candidate will champion CI/CD, IaC, and platform automation within a highly regulated banking environment, mentoring teams and driving operational excellence across multiple squads in a hybrid Dublin

Qualifications

• 5-8 years' experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives and delivering enterprise DevOps solutions.
• Proven track record operating within large banking or enterprise organisations.
• Experience contributing to engineering communities, Centres of Excellence, technical forums, or industry-led initiatives is highly desirable.
• Experience driving engineering best practices and platform adoption across multiple teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Support the modernisation and enhancement of existing DevOps tooling and processes within a highly regulated banking environment.
• Foster knowledge sharing and contribute to the wider engineering community through mentoring, collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This opportunity is ideally suited to a highly experienced DevOps professional who can operate independently within a complex enterprise environment, provide technical leadership, and help shape the evolution of the organisation's Engineering Platform strategy. Skills Required

• Strong DevOps engineering experience, ideally gained within large-scale enterprise environments.
• Proven expertise with Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline development and optimisation.
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, automation frameworks, release management, and software delivery best practices.
• Experience working within banking or financial services.
• Deep understanding of enterprise-scale infrastructure, automation, platform engineering, and DevOps principles.
• Ability to operate independently and influence technical direction at senior stakeholder level.
• Experience driving engineering best practices and platform adoption across multiple teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with GitHub Actions is highly desirable.
