Job summary

MCS Group | Your Specialist Recruitment Consultancy has an established client seeking an ICT Field Service Engineer to join its customer support and infrastructure team. You will provide remote and onsite technical support across customer infrastructure, networks and Microsoft 365 environments.

You will own technical issues from diagnosis to resolution, install and maintain servers, virtual environments and networking gear, and assist with backups, DR and security best practices.

Qualifications

• At least two years' experience in ICT support, infrastructure or engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Desktop and Windows Server environments.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online.
• Solid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPNs.
• Familiarity with AD, DNS, DHCP; virtualization and backup technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote and onsite support across customer infrastructure, networks, servers and Microsoft 365.
• Take ownership of technical issues from diagnosis to resolution.
• Install, configure and maintain servers, virtual environments, networking equipment and related infrastructure.
• Support backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
• Monitor systems, perform proactive maintenance and recommend improvements.
• Assist with infrastructure upgrades, migrations and customer projects.
• Keep technical documentation and customer records accurate and up to date.
• Work with customers, colleagues and vendors to deliver a reliable support service.
• Apply security best practices, including patching, access controls, MFA and endpoint protection.
