Job summary

ICON plc is seeking an IT Internal Auditor to assess financial and operational IT risks and controls. The role focuses on SOX testing, ITGC, and internal control improvements within a hybrid office in Leopardstown, Dublin 18.

You will work with an audit team to assess processes, liaise with management and external auditors, and help deliver findings and recommendations. Strong communication and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in technology audit or equivalent (IT general controls, application controls, infosec, IAM, financial or business process audit).
• Knowledge of IT general controls across application, OS and database layers.
• SOX testing experience preferred; ISO 27001 experience a plus.
• Knowledge of COSO, COBIT, NIST, ISO frameworks.
• Strong communication with both technical and non-technical teams.
• CPA or CISA certification or actively pursuing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audits of IT, financial and operational processes including regulatory compliance (SOX, SOC 2).
• Execute SOX ITGC testing and control evaluations.
• Assist with audit risk assessment and planning.
• Coordinate with management and external auditors for evidence and findings.
• Follow-up on audit recommendations and track resolutions.
• Contribute to internal control improvements and risk management practices.
• Prepare internal audit reports outlining scope, findings and recommendations.
• Support best practices dissemination to improve business performance.
