Job summary

ICON plc in Leopardstown, Dublin 18 is seeking an IT Internal Auditor to assess IT risks and controls, supporting SOX compliance and process improvements. The role involves auditing IT, financial and operational processes, collaborating with management and external auditors, and driving risk-based control enhancements.

A strong IT audit background and SOX experience are preferred. The position is office hybrid in Dublin 18 with opportunities to contribute to a global healthcare intelligence

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in technology audit or equivalent with SOX testing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of IT general controls across applications, OS and database layers.
• Familiarity with COSO, COBIT, NIST, ISO frameworks and IT risk management.
• Professional certification such as CPA or CISA, or actively pursuing certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audits of IT, financial and operational processes including regulatory compliance (SOX and SOC 2).
• Execute testing of internal control over financial reporting (SOX) including ITGC testing.
• Liaise with management and external auditors on evidence requests and findings.
• Develop controls improvements and drive risk management enhancements.
• Prepare internal audit reports detailing scope, findings and recommendations.
• Support pre-implementation reviews of new systems to ensure proper controls.
