Job summary

ICON plc in Ireland (Leopardstown, Dublin 18) is seeking an Internal Auditor to join its global internal audit team. This role offers an office-hybrid setup and travel up to 15% to support audits worldwide.

You will work under senior team guidance on internal controls, SOX testing, and risk-based audits across divisions. The ideal candidate has two years of audit experience, strong IT and data analytics skills, excellent written communication, and a commitment to integrity and professional

Qualifications

• Qualified or working towards ACA, ACCA, CIA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong IT skills and experience with data analytics to support audit work.
• At least two years of internal or external audit experience.
• Experience in SOX testing desirable.
• Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a global team and manage time effectively.
• Confidentiality and professional ethics.

Responsibilities

• Support risk-based internal audit assignments across ICON’s global divisions.
• Perform SOX testing and document results.
• Conduct process walkthroughs with process owners.
• Test design and operating effectiveness of internal controls.
• Prepare evidence-based working papers.
• Use audit management and SOX tools to track issues.
• Draft audit findings and contribute to action plans.
• Communicate risks and control issues to audit lead.
• Follow up actions and remediation testing.
• Manage assigned tasks and deadlines.
• Provide audit results for management updates and Audit Committee.
• Use data analytics to identify risk indicators.
• Share observations to support risk assessments.
• Build relationships with process owners while maintaining objectivity.
• Seek feedback and contribute to team improvement.
