Job summary

ICON plc, a leading global contract research organisation, seeks a Senior Internal Auditor to join its global internal audit team. You will lead and support internal audits across ICON’s divisions, manage SOX testing, and use data analytics to identify risk indicators while ensuring governance and control effectiveness.

You will work in an office-hybrid model in Leopardstown, Dublin 18, with up to 15% travel.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA, CIA or equivalent relevant professional qualification.
• Strong IT skills; experience using data analytics to support audit work is desirable.
• At least three years’ relevant internal or external audit experience, with multinational or listed‑company exposure desirable.
• Strong report‑writing skills, attention to detail and time management.
• Good governance, risk management and internal controls knowledge, including SOX testing techniques.
• Independent work capability and global team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk-based internal audits across ICON’s global divisions from planning to reporting and follow‑up.
• Manage SOX testing and reporting across divisions.
• Lead walkthroughs, risk assessments, and control design/operating effectiveness reviews.
• Prepare audit reports, identify root causes, and propose risk‑based actions with owners and dates.
• Utilize data analytics to identify risk indicators and support testing.
• Support annual internal audit plan preparation and communicate with stakeholders.
