Job summary

GCS Recruitment partners with a leading global technology company to hire a Systems Engineer for the Platform Engineering team. You will manage Kubernetes infrastructure across on‑prem and cloud, and develop automation tooling in Python or Go.

This hybrid Dublin‑based role focuses on IaC with Terraform/Helm, CI/CD pipelines, observability with Prometheus and Grafana, and collaboration to deliver secure, scalable cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience managing Kubernetes in production environments.
• 5+ years of strong Linux systems administration experience.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies including Terraform, Helm, Argo CD or Flux.
• Solid networking knowledge covering DNS, TLS, load balancing, ingress/egress, and firewalls.
• Strong scripting or software development experience in Python or Go.
• Experience with GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Kubernetes certifications (CKA) or cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage, patch, upgrade, and optimise Kubernetes infrastructure across on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Build and improve Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Helm, and GitOps practices.
• Develop automation and tooling using Python and/or Go.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments.
• Deploy and support networking and storage solutions for Kubernetes workloads.
• Improve monitoring, observability, and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana, and cloud‑native tooling.
• Troubleshoot production issues and help drive improvements in reliability and operational excellence.
• Leverage AI‑powered tooling and automation to enhance platform operations and reduce incident resolution times.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure.
