Job summary

Intact Insurance Ireland DAC is seeking a Customer Service Operations Underwriter for our Galway operations. The role involves handling car and home insurance enquiries, delivering top-tier service to customers and brokers, and working within an underwriting licence.

You will be the primary contact for customers, with a fast-paced team focused on accuracy, targets and continuous improvement. Training will be conducted at our Knocknacarra, Galway offices.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement – Leaving Certificate or mature students.
• Experience in insurance sector is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication and telephone manner with ability to handle calls professionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service via telephone and email, making underwriting decisions on car and home insurance within licence.
• Escalate underwriting decisions to senior team members as required.
• Meet and exceed individual and team targets.
• Focus on Quality Assurance and work with a coach to develop customer service and underwriting skills.
• Perform any additional administration duties to support the role.
