Job summary

Tandem Project Management Ltd. in West Cork seeks an HVAC Engineer to join a multidisciplinary project team delivering HVAC and building services design for biopharmaceutical projects.

You will support design, procurement, construction and commissioning, prepare technical specifications, coordinate contractors, and help ensure projects meet safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.
• Five to ten years' experience in HVAC or mechanical design and construction environments, ideally within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
• Strong communication, coordination and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver HVAC and building services design as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
• Prepare HVAC deliverables, including airflow and instrumentation diagrams, design calculations, chiller design, BMS design support and utility systems design.
• Develop detailed scopes of work for HVAC contractors to support tendering and procurement activities.
• Coordinate and supervise HVAC contractors during construction and commissioning.
• Monitor contractor activities and track progress to support delivery in line with project schedules and budgets.
• Prepare technical specifications and support the procurement of air handling units and other HVAC equipment.
• Provide technical support to project teams and relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in constructability and safety reviews.
• Review project scope, budget and schedule, highlighting risks or issues as required.
• Manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity.
• Support site health and safety requirements and monitor works for compliance with applicable regulations, project requirements and cost controls.
