Job summary

AECOM Ireland Limited is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for HV substations in the UK & Ireland, based in Dublin with a hybrid work model. You will contribute to primary plant layouts, equipment specifications, and HV design input across major infra projects.

The role requires an electrical engineering degree, HV project exposure, and strong communication. A driving license and flexibility for site visits are preferred. Chartered accreditation is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Some HV project experience.
• Experience as designer or project engineer.
• Experience developing specs for substation control systems, transformers, GIS, and AIS switchgear.
• Ability to work across multiple projects.
• Fluency in English.
• Full driving license; access to a vehicle for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Produce primary plant layouts for HV substations.
• Develop equipment specifications for HV plant and related equipment.
• Provide HV design input to major infrastructure projects.
• Support Owners’ Engineer role on HV substation, cable, and OHL projects.
• Contribute HV design input to renewable energy projects (battery, solar, hydro, wind).
