Job summary

Focus Ireland in Tipperary is seeking a Full Time Housing First Support Worker to assist people experiencing homelessness to secure secure, permanent housing with no preconditions. You will work across assessment, tenancy support, advocacy, and multidisciplinary collaboration to enable access to housing, welfare supports and health services.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Care or related area and/or CORU registration.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in residential social care services, preferably homelessness.
• Leadership experience in social care services would be advantageous.
• Experience working with challenging behaviours and supporting care-staff.
• Experience with recording, reporting and information management.

Responsibilities

• Engage with people sleeping rough or experiencing homelessness and signpost to services.
• Assess housing needs and support access to Local Authority housing, HAP or relevant entitlements.
• Provide key-working support across health, mental health, addiction, living skills and employment.
• Coordinate with agencies to ensure access to supports and entitlements.
• Support tenancy and independent living and advocate with landlords and authorities.
• Attend property viewings and support move into accommodation.
• Maintain accurate participant records and generate required reports.
• Contribute to service improvement through audits and user feedback.
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development.
