Salthill Hotel in Galway is seeking a motivated Hotel Porter to join our team. You will greet guests on arrival, assist with luggage, and escort guests to rooms while sharing information on hotel facilities.

You will also help with event spaces, setup and breakdown, and provide support to ensure events run smoothly. A friendly, professional demeanor and physical stamina are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or customer-facing roles preferred.
• Ability to greet guests warmly and assist with luggage.

The Salthill Hotel is a well-established, welcoming hotel on the Galway coastline, known for its excellent service, comfortable accommodation, and busy events calendar. We are currently seeking a motivated and friendly Hotel Porter to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly on arrival and assist with luggage
• Escort guests to rooms and provide information on hotel facilities
• Deliver excellent customer service and respond to guest requests promptly
• Provide local knowledge on Galway attractions, transport, and amenities
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of lobby, entrance, and public areas

Events & Functions Duties

• Assist with the setup and breakdown of event spaces (weddings, conferences, functions)
• Arrange furniture, staging, and equipment according to event plans
• Ensure event rooms are clean, organised, and ready on time
• Support the events team during functions to ensure smooth operations
• Monitor and maintain presentation standards throughout events

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Positive, professional, and approachable manner
• Ability to carry out physical tasks (lifting, moving furniture, handling luggage)
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and busy event schedules
• Previous hospitality or events experience is an advantage but not essential
